HOW TO SEND PHOTOGRAPHS
If you have the original photograph:
Please scan it, if possible, rather than taking a screenshot or copying an image from Facebook or another website.
For older photographs, a scan at 600 dpi is preferred. Save the image as a JPEG (.jpg) or PNG (.png) file. Please do not reduce the file size before sending it.
If you do not have a scanner:
A good photograph taken with a modern phone may be usable. Place the original photograph on a flat surface in good, even light. Avoid glare, reflections, and shadows.
Hold the phone directly above the photograph so that the image is straight rather than angled. Include the entire photograph; please do not crop away the edges. Please identify the photograph.
When you email an image, please include as much of the following information as you know:
• Full names of the people pictured
• Approximate date the photograph was taken
• Location, if known
• How the people pictured are related to your Copeland family
• Who owns or provided the original photograph
• Any story or information associated with the photograph
Please send the original-size image file with your email rather than inserting a small or reduced copy.
If you are unsure how to scan, save, or send your photograph, email me and I will be happy to help.
